Brian Eakin has a Bachelors and Masters degree from OSU and he currently works for OG&E doing forecasting work. Mr. Eakin will be presenting on the energy/utility industry and how advances in technology have changed the way we approach forecasting. The implementation of Smart Meters has provided a lot of interesting information about how customers use energy. Likewise, it has presented forecasting issues due to the massive volumes of data (billions of records). He will also give some insights into the skills that complement an Economics degree that are highly sought after in the job market.
